Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Surgical

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Surgical team. The ideal candidate will have experience with neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses. This role requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Certificate of NIH preferred.
• Neuro experience is preferred.

Position Details

• Patient-to-nurse ratios: 1:5-6.
• Shifts available: 36 or 48 hours per week. Overtime will only be billed after 48 hours.
• Contract lengths: 13-26 weeks, depending on the candidate's preference.
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated; please discuss during the submission process.
• Weekend commitment: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract. The unit is flexible with this requirement and welcomes discussions with candidates.
• Float requirements: Yes, candidates should be prepared to float as necessary.

Expectations

Contract staff will be expected to participate in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, potentially reporting to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or emergencies. Mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office may occur, with pre-assignment to units as needed.

Patient Care Focus

This position primarily involves caring for patients undergoing neuro surgical procedures and those with neuro diagnoses. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential.

• Documentation: EPIC
• Communication: SBAR

Orientation and Attire

• Unit orientation includes 2 shifts following hospital-based orientation.
• Scrubs required: Navy.
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start for this specialty.
