MedSurg Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MedSurg Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical-surgical unit and possess a strong clinical background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 34-bed medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically Cerner.
  • Adhere to established protocols and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and valid certifications including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and NIH Stroke Scale.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting.
  • Strong understanding of telemetry monitoring and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-7 effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Contract Details

This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension. Candidates may work either a 4x12 or 3x12 night shift schedule.

Additional Information

Please note that the facility has established attendance expectations, allowing for only 2-3 call-offs per contract duration.
