Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Oncology

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions effectively.
  • Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and wellness strategies.

Schedule

This position requires working three 12-hour shifts or four 12-hour shifts per week, including weekday nights and every other weekend.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in an oncology or medical surgical setting.
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
  • ONS chemotherapy/bio certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in IV starts and other essential nursing skills.

Work Environment

The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6, allowing for focused and individualized care. Please note that attendance is monitored closely, and the expectation is for minimal call-offs during the contract period.

Additional Information

Scrubs will not be provided; please wear burgundy and/or white attire. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.
