Contract | 13 or 26 Weeks | Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required | 2 of 3 Major Holidays Required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients in a high-risk OB unit, including inductions, antepartum, and OB triage
- Manage a dynamic patient population across LDR rooms, OB triage, OR suites, and PACU within a high-volume unit averaging up to 14 patients daily
- Perform OB triage assessments for third-trimester testing patients and incoming triage volume
- Utilize Epic for all clinical documentation and charting
- Float to like units within the hospital or affiliate locations as needed to meet facility demands
- Participate in charge nurse responsibilities; charge experience preferred or training may be provided
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license required (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand for offer)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted
- 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience in a Labor & Delivery or similar OB setting
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and OB triage patient populations
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
