```htmlJob Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Float required as needed to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit. No call requirement.

Highlights:

  • High-volume birthing center averaging 300+ births per month with approximately 20 births per 24-hour period
  • Fast-paced environment caring for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care
  • Patient ratio of 2:1 with double labor assignments occurring daily; 30-40 admissions and 40 visits per day
  • Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
  • Contract length up to 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027
  • 24-hour orientation provided; scrubs provided on-site

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience; 3 years preferred
  • Required experience in high-volume settings with 300+ births per month
  • Certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP
  • Skills: Ability to circulate for C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, provide immediate newborn care, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage pain assessment
  • Comfortable with triage of obstetrical patients, high-risk antepartum care, and infant/neonatal arrest situations
  • Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs, isolation precautions/PPE, and oxytocin challenge tests
  • First-time travelers accepted if experienced in large, high-volume similar settings
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
