Description

Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Highlights:
  • High-volume birthing unit averaging 20 births per 24-hour period with 300+ births per month
  • Fast-paced environment serving obstetrical patients from 16 weeks gestation through high-risk antepartum and postpartum care
  • Contract options available for 13 or 26 weeks with 24 hours of orientation
  • 2:1 patient ratio with daily census of approximately 20 patients, 30-40 admits, and 40 visits per day
  • Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
  • Float opportunity to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed
  • Scrubs provided by facility
Requirements:
  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in high-volume birthing centers handling 300+ births per month
  • Proficiency in circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
  • Current certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Competency with triage of obstetrical patients, pain assessment and management, IV starts and maintenance
  • Ability to manage double labor assignments and work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • First-time travelers accepted if experienced in similar high-volume settings
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
