Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Postpartum/Mother-Baby position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring verified Cerner experience and a minimum of 2 years in a postpartum or mother-baby setting.
Details
- Postpartum/Mother-Baby (PP/MB) unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes postpartum vaginal delivery, C-section, and GYN surgery patients
- Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Verified Cerner EMR experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (AHA-issued only)
- CPI certification required
- Minimum 2 years of postpartum/mother-baby experience in a U.S. hospital required
- Postpartum or Mother-Baby (not L&D) experience is specifically required for this position
- Verified Cerner EMR experience required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months (at least one from most recent employer)
- Date of birth required for consideration

- Provides safe, competent, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy
- Supports the healthcare team through professional leadership and demonstrates service excellence standards
- Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
