    Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide high-acuity stepdown care for patients with diagnoses including respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds, withdrawal, and post-operative recovery (GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomy, neuro, and ortho surgeries)
    • Monitor, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias using bedside and remote telemetry systems; must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias independently
    • Titrate and manage vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo; unit allows one pressor drip per patient
    • Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, BIPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
    • Administer blood products, IV insulin protocols, and Heparin protocols; apply isolation precautions as required
    • Float as needed to a sister ICCU unit; participate in Rapid Response Team activations and care for post-rapid-response patients
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS/BCLS certification required
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
    • Must pass EKG/telemetry testing prior to start; experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips is required
    • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local pay rate will apply
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with conscious sedation and IV insertion
    • Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems
    • Experience caring for a broad patient population including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
    • Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
