Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit serving PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients with a target ratio of 1:4–5
- Manage and monitor patients presenting with COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP, and telemetry needs
- Perform IV starts, manage drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin), and care for chronic trach/vent patients; no nurse assigned more than one vent patient at a time
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide telemetry monitoring across a 48-bed unit
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a team lead, respiratory therapists, admission/discharge nurse, vascular access team, RRT, code team, and behavioral health team
- Float to like units within or near the facility as needed; work every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license – NC state or Compact license required (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at an adjusted rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with chest tube management and vasoactive/cardiac drip administration
- Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems
