Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse located in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized patient care in a busy IMCU environment, supporting patients with thoracic and cardiac conditions, including those requiring ventilator and transplant support. The role demands critical thinking, teamwork, and compassionate nursing practices within a dynamic hospital setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or a current compact RN license, with a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care inpatient RN experience in the specialty within the last 3 years. Certifications include ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with thoracic surgery patients, ventilator management, transplant patients, cardiac telemetry, and experience with electronic medical records systems such as Epic.
  • Additional Information: Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry interpretation exam prior to start, with up to two attempts to achieve a passing score of 80% or higher. Prior experience with arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and other specialized procedures is preferred. Candidates must be willing to float as needed and operate within the hospitals interdisciplinary support teams.
