Key Responsibilities
- Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes in relation to established goals.
- Collects and reports critical data relevant to patient condition to the physician in a timely manner, and assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic findings.
- Documents findings of physical assessment and identifies abnormal findings; develops individualized plans of care based on patient need.
- Advocates on behalf of patients and their families while maintaining open communication with nursing management and demonstrating a professional demeanor with all team members.
- Performs interventions according to patient need and facility policy, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- May float to additional units including CCU and Emergency Department as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU and Emergency Department experience.
- Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current TNCC certification.
- NIHSS Certification.
- Moderate Sedation Certification.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiac catheterization experience preferred.
- Experience floating to varied acute care units such as CCU or Emergency Department.
