Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Collect and report critical values and relevant patient data to the physician in a timely manner; assess appropriate lab and diagnostic results.
- Document findings of physical assessments, identify abnormal findings, and develop individualized plans of care based on patient need.
- Advocate on behalf of patients and their families while maintaining professional communication with patients, peers, and nursing management.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and hospital policies when performing patient interventions.
- Float capability required to the following units: ICU/CCU, Emergency Department, and additional medical-surgical floors as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice in New York State.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience and Emergency Department experience.
- Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current TNCC certification required.
- NIHSS Certification required.
- Moderate Sedation Certification required.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiac Catheterization experience preferred.
- Experience floating across multiple units including CCU and Emergency Department settings.
