Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts | Weekend Days (Friday/Saturday + 1 weekday) | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (36 hours per week)
Contract Duration: Contract must extend through January 2, 2027
Highlights:
- Float to multiple critical care units based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics
- Work with a diverse patient population in a high-acuity academic medical environment with transplant services (kidney, liver, lung, heart)
- EPIC charting system in use across all units
- Float assignment based on equivalent or lower acuity levels to match your skill set

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator management
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role
Clinical Skills & Experience:
- Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Arterial line and central line care/management
- Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
- Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Continuous IV sedation and paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
- BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
- Post-cardiac surgery care and CABG patients
- ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), and lumbar drains
- CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Procedural sedation and pulmonary artery line monitoring
Important Compliance Information:
- Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date (no exceptions)
- Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing – candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing process
- Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
- Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current employees are ineligible for travel assignments
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
