ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: Nights
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend as needed
  • Floating Requirements: May float to other ICUs and 1:1 sitter roles

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
  • Bed Capacity: 32 beds (16 SICU and 16 MICU)
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1 and 1:2
  • CNA Ratios: 1 CNA per 8 patients, with additional support during day shifts
  • Required Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, CPAP
  • Monitoring: RN monitors and reads strips using Spacelabs

Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing critical care to patients with conditions such as CABG, CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral brain hemorrhage, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, and respiratory failure.
  • Administering medications, including titration of drips such as dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and insulin.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including Hospitalists and Intensivists, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Participating in unit orientation and integrating into the team with a focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a similar size or larger unit.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
  • Skills: Proficient in titrating IV drips and caring for critically ill patients.

Additional Information

  • No on-call requirements.
  • Unit/Department specific orientation of 1-2 shifts provided.
  • Holiday requirements as needed, with efforts made to accommodate requests.
