ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with at least one year of experience in an intensive care setting, capable of managing critically ill patients while providing high-quality care.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, promptly reporting changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as ordered.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to Telemetry Units as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Engage in continuous professional development and learning opportunities.
• Participate in unit orientation programs, providing support to new staff.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Bed Capacity: 10 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Vented Patients, GI Bleeds, Strokes, TPA, Post Surgical Complications, Pneumonia, CRRT
• Support Staff: Includes 1 CNA per shift, with hospitalists available on-site 24/7.
• Telehealth support available for intensivists 24/7. Respiratory Therapists present 24/7 with relevant equipment.

Qualifications

• Must possess ACLS, BLS Certification, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Ability to float to other units, maintaining comprehensive patient care standards.
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips; no telemetry technicians available on-site.

Scheduling

• 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM; weekends and holidays may be required as needed.
• Continued scheduling may involve grouped or blocked shifts based on unit needs.
• Orientation duration will vary between one to two shifts based on prior experience.

Dress Code

Professional attire is required. Any color scrubs are acceptable, provided they are clean and presentable.
