ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is ideal for those with experience in intensive care, ready to work the night shift in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit
• Number of Beds: 10
• Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Vented Patients, GI Bleeds, Strokes, TPA, Post Code, PNA, Post Surgical Complications, CRRT (Travelers will not take).
• Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in an ICU setting, first-time travelers welcome.
• Skills Required: Must be a good team player and able to titrate drips (e.g., Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, Diltiazem).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Titrate medications as needed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Read and interpret cardiac strips; no dedicated Tele/Monitor Techs available.
• Assist in the care of patients undergoing various procedures.

Additional Information

• Orientation: 1 to 2 shifts of orientation depending on experience.
• Weekend Requirements: As needed, typically every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirements: Availability as needed.
• Floating Requirements: Possibility to float to telemetry; maintain a patient ratio of 1:3, may take full assignments; potential floating to other ICUs in the region.
• Dress Code: Clean and professional attire, any color scrubs allowed.
• Support Staff: 1 CNA per shift; Hospitalist on site 24/7; Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7; Respiratory Therapists in the ICU 24/7.

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS
