The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and adherence to strict clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: The ICU Nurse will provide advanced nursing care in a 11-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, supporting patients with complex conditions such as ARDS, Sepsis, and therapeutic hypothermia. Responsibilities include line placements, intubations, titrating drips (venoactive medications, sedation, insulin, Heparin), and interpreting EKG strips.
- Certifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS.
- Education & Experience: Must have at least 2 years of ICU experience, with current licensure required.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM or 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Travel nurses will work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
- Additional Information: The assignment includes a 2-shift orientation in the Medical ICU and 1 shift each in Trauma, Neuro, and Surgical ICUs. In-house pharmacy support is available 24/7, and ICU-specific training will be provided prior to start. Travelers may float within scope to other critical care units within the Sacramento facilities.
