ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• Floating Requirements: May float to Tele unit or other locations within the region

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit
• Number of Beds: 10
• Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Diagnoses/Patient Types: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Vented Patients, GI Bleeds, Strokes, post-surgical complications

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Titrate drips as necessary, including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, and Epinephrine.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Hospitalists and Intensivists available via telehealth 24/7.
• Work alongside a Certified Nursing Assistant per shift to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required.
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
• Ability to read telemetry strips is essential.
• Must be a team player, open to working with first-time travelers.

Orientation

New hires will undergo 1 to 2 shifts of department-specific orientation based on experience.

Dress Code

Employees are requested to wear clean and professional scrubs of any color.

Additional Notes

The role does not carry any on-call requirements nor involves taking charge of patients during shifts. The unit operates with administrative support and crisis nursing staff available around the clock.

This position is located approximately in the vicinity of a major city, and we are looking for candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius from the area.
