ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in a high-acuity setting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in an Intensive Care Unit, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex patient conditions.

Position Details

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit
• Shift: Nights (7pm - 7am) with weekend requirements as needed
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Clinical Responsibilities

The ICU RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care, including but not limited to:

• Monitoring and assessing critically ill patients
• Titrating intravenous drips including but not limited to dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and insulin
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team including hospitalists and intensivists
• Utilizing advanced technology and equipment, including ventilators, BiPAP, and CRRT
• Float assignments to other ICUs when necessary

Patient Care and Team Dynamics

Our unit consists of separate but staffed combined areas for Surgical and Medical Intensive Care, with a total of 32 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are available for support, particularly during day shifts.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred Skills: Experience in a similar-sized or larger ICU

Work Environment

The position includes a structured orientation program of 1-2 shifts to acclimate to the unit's specific processes and technologies. Flexible scheduling is offered, with an emphasis on meeting the preferences of staff concerning weekend and holiday shifts. There is no call or standby requirement.
