Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

 

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU is responsible for providing safe, comprehensive, and patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The RN will assess and continuously monitor patients, recognize changes in clinical condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires strong critical-thinking skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to provide care in a high-acuity ICU environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
  • ICU Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • New York RN License: Must have an active NY RN license in hand
  • Background/License: No background or license hits
  • Guaranteed Hours:36 hours per week

Local Candidate Policy

  • Locals Accepted
  • Local candidates are defined as those residing 50 miles or less from the facility.
  • Local rate is $15.00 less than the travel rate.

Scrub Requirements

  • Scrub Color: Any

RTO Policy

  • All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial candidate submission.
  • RTO submitted after an offer is made will not be approved.
  • The traveler is responsible for coordinating with peers to ensure appropriate coverage for approved time off.

Traveler Eligibility

  • Previous employees are not eligible for travel assignments.
  • Return travelers are eligible to return as long as they are in good standing.

First-Day / Orientation Requirement

  • Travelers working a 12-hour schedule are required to work a full 12-hour shift on their first day.
  • Travelers must arrive in scrubs and be prepared to spend most of the first day orienting to the ICU and working on the unit.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced ICU Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of recent intensive care experience. The candidate should be confident caring for critically ill patients, demonstrate strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary ICU team.
