Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Days) | Multi-Unit | New York StateContract Details
- Contract must run through holidays: 22–26 weeks
- Full-time, 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- 2 on-call shifts required per 4-week period
- Must be able to float between Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units across two facility locations
Position Summary
- Must be comfortable floating to ICU, ED, Med/Surg, and Med/Surg Telemetry units
- Cross-training across multiple units is required
- BSN and critical care experience are required
Licensure
- Currently licensed by New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse
Certifications – Required
- BLS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
- ACLS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
- PALS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
- NIHSS required
- Basic Coronary Care required within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification required within 90 days of hire
Certifications – Preferred
- Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association recommended within 2 years of hire
- TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with electronic medical records
