Job Summary:
Endoscopy Lab registered nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing care for patients undergoing gastrointestinal (GI) and bronchoscopy procedures, including administration of sedation and pre/post-procedure management. The RN will be an essential part of a multispecialty surgical team, managing patient care in a high-acuity environment with an emphasis on sedation safety and patient recovery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, days, rotating start times between 6:30 am and 10:30 am, with weeknight call requirement. May need to stay past shift end to complete the day's schedule. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible for compact licensure, recent experience performing moderate sedation, recovering sedated GI and pulmonary procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EGD, Colonoscopy, and Bronchoscopy, two years of acute care nursing experience within the last three years, certifications in AHA ACLS and BLS, pass Telemetry exam prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level I trauma center or similar size hospital; familiarity with Epic electronic health record system.
- Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include administering conscious sedation, airway management, management of specialized equipment like balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, EBUS, ERBE, and more. Candidates must be highly skilled in sedation, invasive procedures, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and starting IVs. Must be capable of bedside procedures in high-acuity settings such as ICU or emergency department. The assignment requires passing strict pass/fail telemetry testing with up to three attempts.
