Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy / Procedural Sedation – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Day and evening shifts with weeknight call requirements. Flexibility to stay past shift end to complete scheduled procedures. Daily census of 20-25 patients across 4 procedure rooms.

Highlights:

  • Provide procedural care for GI and bronchoscopy procedures including administration and monitoring of moderate sedation
  • Work in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma Center ranked among the nation's leading academic medical facilities
  • Utilize RN-driven sedation assessment approach with Ramsay Sedation Scale for targeted patient management
  • Manage pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care across all recovery levels including PACU Phase I and Phase II
  • Epic EMR experience required with 20 hours of orientation provided
  • Experience with complex procedures including ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license (pending Wisconsin license accepted with submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience within the last 3 years in procedural sedation and endoscopy
  • Level 1 Trauma Center or similar academic hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system proficiency required
  • Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • CGRN certification preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in administering and recovering moderate sedation including propofol and opioid analgesics
  • Recent experience recovering sedated GI and pulmonary procedures
  • Airway management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias skills required
  • Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and specimen handling
  • Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start date with strict passing criteria
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility location
