Med-Surg/Observation Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a dynamic acute care setting in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This role is crucial in supporting our growing patient census, driven by an increase in orthopedic surgeries, hybrid Cath Lab procedures, and the management of various acute and chronic illnesses.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Observation patients. This position requires a commitment to utilizing the nursing process to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care, applying specialized knowledge to manage critical disease states effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to adult Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Observation patients.
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to manage patient care effectively.
  • Apply specialized knowledge and expertise related to critical disease states and complex medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care, Med-Surg, Telemetry, or similar setting.

Shift Details

  • Call Requirements: Must agree to be in the call rotation and take one (1) call shift per two-week period, if requested due to staffing needs, in place of guaranteed hours that week.
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks.
  • Start Date: August 25, 2026.
Licensing Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
