Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care facility in Canton, Georgia. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients across various specialties within a dynamic surgical environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, intra-operative assistance, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes throughout the surgical process. This position requires a commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and adherence to sterile techniques and protocols. Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be considered for this travel assignment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments, including medical history review and vital sign monitoring.
  • Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring sterility and readiness for procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs, handling instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitor patient's physiological status during surgery, including vital signs, anesthesia effects, and potential complications.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed, accurately documenting all interventions.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide post-operative care and handover reports to recovery room staff.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or a compact state license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience as an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Canton, Georgia.
