Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Heart Center, with a specific focus on emergency pediatric cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients in the emergency department.
  • Provide critical care during trauma and medical emergencies.
  • Administer medications and perform advanced interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Document patient care and relevant information accurately in the EPIC charting system.

Work Schedule

This position requires working day shifts, with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30. The position includes weekend duties, with an expectation of working three weekends (Friday to Sunday) every four weeks. Flexibility in scheduling may be required due to patient volume fluctuations.

Qualifications

  • Valid state nursing license.
  • ACLS and BCLS certifications by the American Heart Association.
  • PALS certification, TNCC certification (preferred), and NIH Stroke certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Level I trauma ER setting.
  • Proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Familiarity with EPIC charting.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration.
  • Experience in triage within an emergency department.
  • Open to first-time travelers.
