Emergency Room Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Room Nurse with Level I trauma experience to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing essential care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of medical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in a Level 1 Trauma Center, including the assessment and management of acute conditions.
• Participate in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Utilize EPIC charting efficiently for documentation.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation as needed.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and engage in triage activities.
• Maintain compliance with best practices in emergency care for both adult and pediatric patients.

Work Schedule

The position requires commitment to work weekends as per the rotation, including three weekends (Friday to Sunday) within a four-week schedule. Flexibility to work one, two, or all three days of the weekend may be required.

Qualifications

• State license to practice as a registered nurse.
• Must possess the following certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BCLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • ENPC (preferred)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an emergency setting, specifically in Level I trauma.
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and EPIC charting is required.

Additional Information

Travel nurses with first-time experiences are welcomed. The unit currently operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:5 to 1:6, potentially increasing up to 1:8 based on patient volume during peak times, including holidays.
