Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced setting, where high acuity and critical thinking skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Perform triage and assessment of patients in emergency situations.
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
  • Utilize EPIC for documentation and charting purposes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Work Schedule

  • Weekends: Required to work 3 weekends (Friday to Sunday) within a 4-week schedule.
  • Floating: Potential to work with pediatric patients.

Qualifications

All candidates must possess the following certifications:

  • State License
  • ACLS
  • BCLS by AHA
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • ENPC (Preferred)
  • NIH

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency or trauma settings.
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma environment is required.
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation is preferred.
  • Triage experience is a plus.

Additional Information

This role involves working in an environment with a current nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, which may reach up to 8 depending on patient volume, especially during holiday seasons. Candidates must be prepared for the challenges of a busy emergency room and provide high-quality patient care consistently.
