Triage Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Triage Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13 or 26-week contract. This role is for a 12-hour night shift, requiring attendance every other weekend and two holiday shifts. Candidates should note that excessive time off will not be accepted, particularly during the holiday season.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care to patients with critical medical emergencies.
• Perform triage assessments and determine the priority of patient treatments based on the severity of their condition.
• Utilize computerized charting systems for comprehensive patient assessment and care documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of nursing experience required, specifically within a triage role.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma environment is essential.
• Current triage training and relevant, recent triage experience required.
• Proficient in using EPIC software for patient documentation and medication administration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Valid nursing license in Massachusetts is necessary.
