Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a 13-week position. The role involves providing care for boarding patients in the emergency department (ED) with an average of 40 patients per day, and a typical staff-to-patient ratio of 5:1. Candidates must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment while ensuring the safety and comfort of patients awaiting inpatient beds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for boarding patients in the ED.
  • Participate in day one telemetry testing as required.
  • Complete mandatory practice tests during onboarding, with a requirement to pass within two attempts during compliance.

Qualifications

  • Active MA nursing license is required.
  • Experience in dealing with boarder patients in the ED is essential—please highlight this in your resume.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA are mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system is preferred.
  • Must have been separated from previous employment with any organization for at least 6 months and must be in good standing to be considered.
  • Minimal time off requests will be considered; all planned time off must be documented at the time of submission.
  • Orientation is conducted weekly; any color scrubs are acceptable.

Scheduling

This position requires availability for a schedule of 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM.
