Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Position Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shifts: Night shifts (3x12-hour) from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Weekends required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
  • Must be available to work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Time off: Up to 40 hours maximum can be approved

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Level 1 emergency department or 2 years in a Level 2 emergency department, with pediatric experience
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required
  • TNCC required; can submit with TNCC pending, but must have certification before start date
  • Virginia nursing license pending submission is acceptable

Responsibilities

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, monitoring, and providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety and care
