Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. This position involves providing exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced environment, fulfilling the demands of an emergency department. This role includes working weekends and requires flexible scheduling based on staffing needs.

Schedule

• Shift: Night (4x12-Hour; 19:00 - 07:00)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Dates: Available on 10/12, 10/26, or 11/09
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Two out of three winter holidays required
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Virginia (VA), pending licenses may be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Level 1 trauma center or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma center, with some pediatric experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC are required; TNCC may be pending but must be completed prior to start.
• Must be available for weekends and flexible scheduling.
• Approval for up to 40 hours of time off during the contract period.
