Overview

A community acute care hospital in northwest Georgia is seeking five experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses for 13-week day-shift travel contracts. The hospital is a Level III trauma center with a 34-bed ED, an accredited Geriatric Emergency Department, and a designated stroke center. Start dates are flexible, and you can begin on any Monday.

Schedule

• Shift: Days, 3x12 hours (36 hours per week)

• Start date: ASAP, any Monday

• Weekends: Every other weekend required

• Floating: As needed, within your scope of practice

Common Patient Types

• Chest pain

• Abdominal pain

• STEMI

• Stroke

• Sepsis

• Behavioral health

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients quickly, and prioritize care based on acuity

• Provide emergency care for cardiac, stroke, sepsis, abdominal, behavioral health, and general medical and trauma patients

• Respond to STEMI and stroke alerts, codes, and rapid responses

• Start IVs, draw labs, give medications, and monitor patients on cardiac monitors

• Care for behavioral health patients, including safety monitoring and de-escalation

• Assist physicians and providers with procedures

• Document accurately and on time in the electronic medical record

• Educate patients and families, and prepare them for discharge or admission

• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the interdisciplinary team
