Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or ETA required to apply
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience required
• Experience in a general Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Strong clinical background in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Experience with ventilated patients, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Ability to care for high-acuity medical, trauma, neuro, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric patients
• Cerner experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency patients across all ages and acuity levels
• Perform triage, ongoing assessment, and prioritization of patient needs in a busy ED environment
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to emergent changes in condition
• Support trauma, stroke, sepsis, chest pain, respiratory distress, and behavioral health presentations
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, sedation, and other critical interventions as ordered
• Manage IV access, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Assist with ventilator support, airway management, chest tube care, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare partners
• Maintain accurate documentation and support safe, efficient patient flow in a high-volume emergency setting
• Float as needed within scope to support unit and facility needs
