Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a Level II trauma center. This role involves providing urgent and critical care to adult and pediatric patients in a 32-bed emergency department, with an average daily census of 120. The ER RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive emergency care, including assessment, stabilization, and treatment, to a diverse patient population across night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (1900-0730), minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or eligible to obtain, minimum of 2 years experience in emergency department setting, certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, Cerner charting experience
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within scope to meet facility needs
  • Additional Information:
    • The ER handles adult and pediatric cases with diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, trauma, respiratory issues, and infections.
    • Skills needed include interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ failure, IV therapy including blood products, management of mechanically ventilated patients, and procedures such as chest tube insertion.
    • Experience with neurological cases, orthopedic trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and shock/trauma cases is required.
    • Knowledge of isolation precautions, triage, and ventilator management is essential.
    • This role offers an orientation day conducted remotely, with compliance modules to be completed within one week of start date.
