Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nursing professionals are sought for a facility located in an urban setting. This position involves working in a fast-paced emergency department managing a high patient volume with varying acuity levels. The role requires providing vital patient care and functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with shifts including evenings.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Evenings, with shift times ranging from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). 0+ years of relevant ER experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Float: No float rotation required.
- Additional Information:
- The position involves managing general emergency complaints, including abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health patients, geriatrics, and occasional pediatric cases.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:4. PCT (Patient Care Technician) to nurse ratio is 1:6-12.
- Support provided within the department includes PCT, receptionists, and Health Unit Coordinators.
- No dedicated charge nurse taking patients; RN will manage patient flow.
- Responsibilities include phlebotomy, lab draws, and medication administration utilizing EMR system EPIC and equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.
- Orientation includes general hospital training followed by 1-2 unit-specific shifts, then independent practice and ongoing support for 2-3 weeks to ensure proficiency.
- The typical shift duration is approximately 12 hours, with scheduling every other weekend and no on-call requirements.
- RTO requests of up to 7 days are accepted; additional days require email approval.
- Scrub color is flexible, parking is free, and the unit culture is recognized for its supportive environment.
- The assignment start date is 10/19/2026, ending on 01/16/2027, with a schedule cycle repeating every 4 weeks.
