CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CVICU Registered Nurse for a contract position involving night shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing complex cardiac care, including direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Care Unit.
• Monitor patients using advanced techniques including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheter management.
• Oversee the use and management of Impella devices and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
• Coordinate care for patients transferred directly from the operating room post-surgery.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a CVICU setting.
• Demonstrated experience with direct open heart admissions and advanced cardiac surgery skills.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS.

Shift Information

This position requires working three 12-hour night shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends. The nurse-to-patient ratio is based on acuity, with potential overflow patients requiring step-down level care.

Additional Information

Scrubs will not be provided. The facility uses Cerner for electronic medical records.
