This position operates in a supportive manner as a Charge Nurse, quality management coordinator, and resource for the unit. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given duty period. This role includes full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care. Participation in patient/resident and family teaching is essential. Leadership is demonstrated by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members according to established policies, procedures, and standards. The RN is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing or their designee. The RN is responsible for maintaining resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.
