Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating days and nights. Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift). Rotating holidays. Float requirements within units of equivalent or lower acuity, no more than once every 4 weeks.
Highlights:
- Cardiovascular ICU specializing in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic critical care patients including CABG, valve repair, TAVR, heart and lung transplants, VAD implantation, and ECMO
- Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, providing focused critical care in a 30-bed unit
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
- Advanced critical care equipment and procedures including hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, ventricular assist devices, CRRT, and ventilator management
- 36 hours of orientation provided to support successful transition
- Travel assignment with professional development in a high-acuity cardiovascular environment
Requirements:
- Current RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required clinical skills: IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA line management
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
