The position requires strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient care. The nurse will be responsible for the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. The role includes care for patients post-cardiac surgery and those requiring ventilation support. The nurse will assist with chest tube insertion and removal as needed. Experience with fresh heart admissions is necessary. The nurse will work within a patient ratio of 1:2 during night shifts. Participation in weekend shifts is required every third weekend. The average daily census ranges from 1 to 8 patients. The unit consists of 8 beds, with staffed support from multiple interdisciplinary teams. Candidates must be able to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. The facility follows standard safety and isolation precautions in patient care. All employees are required to have the flu vaccine.
