Job Title: RN ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse (Compact) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: CRRT experience Description: Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Monitor and assess critically ill patients continuously using advanced medical equipment. Administer medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and timely according to physician orders. Perform and assist with invasive procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and arterial blood draws. Manage ventilator settings and other life-support equipment. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families. Follow strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infection. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain clinical skills and stay current with practices. Willingness to precept may be required. Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity, and rare 1:3 based on staffing and acuity. Rotating weekends and holidays are expected, with no more frequent than every other weekend.
