The Registered Nurse will care for adults and geriatric patients with various cardiac conditions. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Nurses will manage advanced therapy workups, including LVAD and heart transplants. The position requires knowledge of mechanical support devices such as IABP and Impella. Special procedures may include bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion. The average daily census is approximately 10 patients with a capacity of 15 beds. Staff will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and respiratory services. Weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled. Candidates must be comfortable with floating to other units as necessary. Additional requirements include handling various patient care tasks and emergency procedures.
