# Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry RN – North Carolina
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local candidates within 50 miles may have different rate structure)
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignment available. Patient ratio typically 1:6, varies by acuity. Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 6-week schedule (flexible). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
Highlights
- Comprehensive cardiac patient population including post-surgical CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, catheterization procedures, and complex cardiac diagnoses
- Advanced cardiac skills utilized: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip titration, sheath removal, chest tube management, and non-invasive airway support
- Epic charting system with 24-hour orientation program and interdisciplinary team support including pharmacy, respiratory, rapid response, and specialty services
- Exposure to sophisticated cardiac procedures: Watchman/LAAO, electrophysiology, pacemaker placement, vascular surgeries, and thoracic procedures
- Float requirement follows unit rotation schedule; specialized equipment includes arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR bands, and epicardial pacing wires
- Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac floor experience required
- Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, stepdown/progressive care, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath care, cardiac drip management and titration
- Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules (non-billable) using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Candidates must complete all required testing within 48 hours after signing
- Interview required prior to offer; must provide interview availability within 72 hours of submission
Preferred Qualifications
- Arterial line management experience
- Wound care and wound vac experience
- Charge nurse experience
- Epic charting system familiarity
