Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,060
• Assignment Dates: October 12, 2026 – January 11, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, Med/Surg Telemetry, and Float Pool
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–1:6
• Weekend Coverage: Weekend and holiday coverage may be required
• Orientation: 16 hours

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maryland
• At least 2 years of recent hospital-based Telemetry nursing experience
• At least 2 years of prior IMC, PCU, cardiac stepdown, or comparable high-acuity nursing experience
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) documentation experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to manage a 1:4–1:6 patient ratio in a high-acuity cardiac care environment
• Comfort floating across Med/Surg, IMC, observation, trauma surgical, stroke, renal, bariatric surgery, post-ICU, and related adult care units
• Flu vaccination and a two-step PPD are required
• Must be prepared to work within applicable hospital compliance and onboarding requirements

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, Telemetry, and Med/Surg settings.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition, dysrhythmias, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and other cardiac concerns.
• Care for patients experiencing acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), trauma, and post-STEMI conditions.
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips according to unit protocols, including non-titrated and titrated infusions as appropriate.
• Provide care for patients with insulin infusions, tracheostomies, ventilator or non-invasive airway support, chest tubes, drains, feeding tubes, and central or peripheral lines.
• Perform post-cardiac catheterization and post-cardiac surgery care, including TR Band management and monitoring for complications.
• Administer blood products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), enteral feedings, medications, and other treatments safely and accurately.
• Complete thorough assessments, ongoing reassessments, care planning, patient education, and Epic documentation.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Float safely and professionally across assigned adult care units based on clinical competency and staffing needs.
