• Unit Volume: Daily census of 34 with 36 beds

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• At least 1 year of MS/Tele experience and 2 years of stepdown experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association required
• Ability to read cardiac strips confidently and interpret dysrhythmias
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Strong telemetry, cardiac care, and progressive care background
• Permanent address must be at least 100 miles from the facility; 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case
• Minimum of 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
• Monitor telemetry continuously and respond to rhythm changes and dysrhythmias promptly
• Administer IV medications and manage cardiac-related therapies within scope of practice
• Support patients recovering from cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology procedures, and complex medical conditions
• Complete patient assessments, document care accurately in Cerner, and communicate changes in condition quickly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response services
• Maintain safe patient ratios and adapt to varying acuity levels in a fast-paced stepdown unit
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a travel nursing environment
