Healthworks Inc is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Cath Lab RN
Shift: Variable 8-hour and 12-hour day shifts; 40 hours per week
Shift Hours: 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.; schedule may combine 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
Weekends: Primarily call coverage, although scheduled weekend shifts may occasionally be required
On Call: Up to 7 consecutive days of call, Friday through Friday, approximately every 2–3 months
Call Hours: From the end of the scheduled shift until 6:00 a.m. the following morning
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Holiday Requirements: Holiday coverage may be required
Facility: 933-bed Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet Designated, and Comprehensive Stroke Center
Department Details: Fast-paced, high-acuity department with approximately 11 dedicated Cath Labs; travelers will work in the Cath Lab only
Department Volume: Approximately 24–40 adult cases per day
Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience
Traveler Experience: First-time travelers not accepted
RN Certifications:RN License (WI or compact state license) BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
Required RN Skills: Conscious sedation, drip titration and management, Cath Lab procedures, and peripheral interventions
Preferred Experience: Hybrid procedures and ECMO
Typical Cath Lab Procedures: Diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, right and left heart catheterizations, STEMI/NSTEMI cases, CTO interventions, valvuloplasty, CardioMEMS, biopsies, atherectomy, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella
Peripheral Procedures: Diagnostic and interventional peripheral cases and fistulograms
Hybrid Procedures: AAA and thoracic grafts, valve clips, TAVR, and Watchman procedures
Patient Population: Adults only
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Monitoring: Permanent department staff monitor procedures
Documentation System: EPIC
Technology/Equipment: GE C-arms, GE Mac-Lab/Pruka hemodynamic monitoring, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Fujifilm and ProSolv PACS, and Maquet IABP
Additional Equipment: Volcano, St. Jude, AlphaVac, AngioVac, EKOS, and Inari; prior experience is not required
Support Staff: Charge nurse, lead technologist, transporter, unit coordinator, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, onsite cardiology, Critical Response Team, housekeeping, and supply staff
