Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neuro ICU – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: November 3, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week. Patient ratio of 2:1. Weekend coverage required (approximately half of weekends per contract). Float to ICU/IMC/Tele units as needed.
Highlights:
- 13-week travel assignment in a 16-bed Neuro ICU with a daily census of 14 patients
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Work with advanced neuro technologies including external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocols, and lumbar drains
- Epic charting system experience required
- Orientation provided with modules completed onsite
- One pre-approved time off period available
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with neuro ICU experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Experience with 2:1 patient ratios
- Skills required: blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocols, ICP monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy care, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Must reside outside of the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
- Must complete core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
