Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shift with EPIC experience and 2 years of recent acute care experience required.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730
• Will also accept 4x12 schedules
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall score

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skills used may include IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration), wound care, and renal failure management
• Up to two attempts allowed on telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course, with assignment cancellation if not passed after three attempts
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous travel experience not required, so first-time travelers may be considered
