Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit at an academic teaching hospital
• Day (3x12, 0700-1930) and Night (3x12, 1900-0730) shifts available
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team use
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocol titration
• Skilled in non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care on a Med/Surg Tele unit within a Magnet-designated, top-ranked academic teaching hospital
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no more than one incorrect answer on 3rd degree heart block questions, with an overall passing score of 80% or higher
• Pediatric telemetry exam also required with an 80% or higher passing score
• Two attempts allowed to pass exams; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Parking permit required for onsite parking, with bus, park & ride, and private parking alternatives available
