Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of acute care experience and a compact or OH RN license in hand.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within OSU system
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with strong acute care background
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in respiratory care, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring experience including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including peripheral line and PICC line management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs
• Neurological/psychiatric and substance withdrawal care experience
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract as required for state compliance
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel positions at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
